ReStore Driver & Warehouse Associate Housatonic Habitat for Humanity - 5.0 Danbury, CT Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Customer communication Interpersonal skills Merchandising Moving Forklift Driver's License Materials handling Pallet jack Straight truck Full Job Description The ReStore Warehouse and Driver Associate helps organize the warehouse, manage the placement of incoming donations, research/price inventory for pricing, create merchandise displays, load and unload items such as heavy furniture and building supplies, and assist customers as needed. The candidate must be comfortable driving a 16-foot box truck or accompanying another of our drivers on donation pickups at donor homes. This person works to ensure that customers and donors have a positive experience at the ReStore; which includes providing friendly customer service and assisting in loading purchases and unloading donations. Additional tasks include cleaning merchandise, pricing, stocking, organizing and rearranging items to help maintain the consistency and quality of the showroom floor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Drive/Driver Assistant -Take ReStore truck or van to pick up customer donations.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing high-quality customer service.
  • Evaluate condition/acceptability of incoming donations. Price materials to be sold.
  • Organize and manage the showroom's inventory to ensure it is displayed in a safe manner.
  • Unload donations and put them on the showroom floor. Heavy lifting required.
  • Research and price incoming inventory
  • Assist customers with purchases or donations, including lifting, carrying and unloading/loading items up to 70 lbs.
  • Ensure that all areas of the store/warehouse are safe, clean, and organized.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to consistently lift and move up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently, follow instructions and take initiative
  • 1-2 years' experience in retail, delivery driver or service-oriented position preferred
  • Reasonable familiarity with furniture and building materials
  • Good communication skills & the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals
  • Team Player

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, carry, go up and down flights of stairs, as well as pulling, reaching to obtain stock and/or acquire merchandise for sale. Position requires the ability to frequently lift products/supplies of up to 75 lbs. with appropriate equipment. The job operates on the road, in donor's homes and in a retail/warehouse environment. Will train and require safe use of operating equipment such as ladders, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
