Warehouse experience? We can teach sanitation. Martins Maintenance is building a dependable, long-term team at a major food-distribution warehouse in Rocky Hill. This is a warehouse position with a sanitation focus—not a traditional office-cleaning job. Approximately 75% of the people selected for this team will come from warehouse backgrounds. The remaining 25% will come from janitorial, industrial cleaning or other professional cleaning backgrounds. If you understand how to work safely and efficiently inside an active warehouse, your experience applies—even if "sanitation" was not part of your previous job title. Day Increase First Shift:

Starting pay: $18.00 per hour Pay after a successful 60-day performance review: $18.50 per hour

Second Shift:

Starting pay: $18.25 per hour Pay after a successful 60-day performance review: $18.75 per hour The 60-day review will evaluate attendance, dependability, safety, work quality and overall performance. What You Will Do Depending on your assigned area, you may work in the dry warehouse, cooler or freezer.

Responsibilities may include:

Cleaning and maintaining assigned warehouse areas Sweeping, mopping and scrubbing industrial flooring Operating approved floor-cleaning equipment Removing trash, debris and discarded materials Cleaning spills, doors, railings and other warehouse surfaces Completing routine cleaning and detailed sanitation assignments Working safely around warehouse employees and operating equipment Following food-distribution sanitation and workplace-safety procedures Reporting spills, damaged areas and other safety concerns Keeping cleaning equipment and supplies organized What We Are Looking For We are interested in candidates with experience in: Warehousing Shipping and receiving Order selection Loading and unloading Material handling Warehouse sanitation Industrial cleaning Commercial janitorial work Floor care or floor-scrubber operation Prior sanitation experience is helpful, but it is not required. Dependability, awareness and the ability to work safely in an active warehouse are more important. Position Requirements At least 18 years old Reliable attendance and dependable transportation Ability to remain on your feet throughout the shift Ability to bend, reach, lift and perform physical work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to work in cooler or freezer conditions if assigned Ability to follow safety procedures and supervisor instructions Warehouse or professional cleaning experience strongly preferred Opportunities to Move Up The position offers the opportunity to build experience and take on additional responsibility over time.
