6+ Month Contract (Extension or Permanent Conversion Possible Based on Performance) About the Role We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler / Forklift Operator to support warehouse, inventory, and fulfillment operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, moving, and shipping materials while maintaining accurate inventory records and adhering to strict safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on forklift experience, strong inventory management skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fulfillment or warehouse setting. Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handling & Equipment Operation Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment, including electric pallet jacks (EPJs), reach trucks, and turret trucks. Transport materials, components, pallets, and inventory throughout the facility. Follow all equipment operating procedures, safety protocols, and preventive maintenance guidelines. Receiving & Inventory Management Receive, unload, and verify inbound shipments. Inspect incoming materials and packages for quality, accuracy, and damage. Accurately document receipts and inventory transactions in inventory management systems. Perform inventory audits, cycle counts, and storage location verification activities. Ensure proper labeling, marking, and identification of all materials. Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations Pick, pack, kit, stage, and prepare materials for production or shipment. Determine appropriate packaging methods to protect parts and materials. Organize and stage inventory to support operational efficiency. Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory reconciliation activities. Support material movement activities across the warehouse and manufacturing environment. Quality & Continuous Improvement Identify operational issues, bottlenecks, or process defects and escalate concerns appropriately. Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and accuracy. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance safety, productivity, and operational performance. Safety & Compliance Adhere to all workplace safety requirements and warehouse operating procedures. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Participate in safety training and compliance programs. Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of experience in warehouse, fulfillment center, logistics, inventory, or material handling operations. Hands-on forklift experience and ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment. Experience with receiving, shipping, inventory control, and warehouse processes. Familiarity with inventory management systems, data entry, and transaction processing. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures. Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management software. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly. Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Experience with inventory auditing and cycle counting. Familiarity with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and inventory planning processes. Forklift certification or previous formal forklift training preferred.
