Job Description
Job description The Warehouse Lead Associate plays a key role in assisting the site leadership team by directing the daily functional and operational workflow at the site. Explore our health, wealth, and life offerings at www.safelitebenefits.com. What You'll Do Coordinates the workflow of daily operational activities, communicates daily work plan and assignments. Proactively identifies risks and hazards and develops action plans to ensure safe working conditions. Responsible for comprehensive accident and incident reporting. Support classroom MHE training followed by functional shoulder-to-shoulder training on processes, safety protocol, and MHE operational skills. Coaches associates on operational best practices, proper equipment use, glass-handling methods, and safety procedures. May perform inbound or outbound activities when not actively training including operating material handling equipment (MHE) including forklifts, order pickers or reach trucks. Adhere to all safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Maintain a secure and clean work area by performing housekeeping duties. Fulfill other duties as assigned. What You'll Need Must be 18 years of age or older. Valid state-issued driver's license required and any other license(s) (as required by federal, state, and local laws) to operate a company vehicle; must pass a Motor Vehicle Records check (MVR). Excellent people, leadership, and communication skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite is a plus. Experience operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including order pickers, forklift, and reach trucks. To safely operate the order picker and comply with equipment manufacturer specifications and required safety regulations, there is a weight limit set at 300 pounds. If you are hired to operate this equipment, you will need to weigh under 300lbs. Strength to perform physical tasks involving repetitive moving or raising of objects weighing up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Comfortable with working in various environmental conditions, such as seasonal heat or cold, and staying in a stationary position for long shifts.
