Job Description
Summary:
Responsible for placing vessels in and out of the dry stacks and water following all local and federal guidelines. Responsible for maintaining all dry stack areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):- Coordinate with Supervisor and marina office staff the loading and unloading of vessels between the dry stack, drop well, work racks and tenant services.
- Use visual and radio communication to verify traffic stopping in both directions before crossing roads and parking areas.
- Verify all Forklift visual and audio safety equipment is working properly.
- Maintain the upkeep, organization, and cleanliness of the dry stack areas.
- Work with supervisor on vessel placement and sales of dry stack berths.
- Maintain and log the equipment used in all dry stack operations, including but not limited to, fork trucks, front end loaders, golf carts and forklifts.
- Washing and cleaning vessels that have been transported on the lifts and other vessels that require assistance.
- Proper handling of vessels during transportation and after delivery to the water or dry stack.
- Assists with fuel when needed and ensures safe fueling procedures.
- Assists with pump-outs ensuring proper sanitary procedures.
- Provides general assistance with special events.
- Maintains continual communication with vessels, marina office and fuel dock to ensure timely and efficient dock arrivals, dock departures, including daily radio contact as well as sharing information toward slip/dry stack usage and planning.
- Routinely greets all arrivals and anticipates vessel needs and providing such within marina's ability to perform; assists guest services by promoting timely departure with vessel; advises guest services of any changes or requests from vessel; remain available for vessel to cast off or other tasks as needed for safe departure.
- Is prepared to cover assignments for others in the marina department.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
