Job description: Overview We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Cherry Picker operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling inventory through the operation of specialized equipment such as reach trucks, forklifts, and clamp trucks. Your expertise will ensure safe and accurate order picking, loading, unloading, and inventory management within a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety standards, operational excellence, and team collaboration, contributing significantly to our warehouse distribution processes. Responsibilities Operate forklift cherry pickers, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with OSHA and company safety protocols. Perform order picking using barcode scanning systems and manual methods to ensure accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Load and unload shipments with heavy lifting techniques while adhering to safety standards in production. Manage inventory through warehouse management systems (WMS), conducting regular stock counts and updating records accurately. Assist in shipping and receiving activities by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and ensuring proper documentation. Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment such as lift trucks, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks to maintain operational readiness. Support warehouse management in implementing warehouse operations best practices for distribution efficiency. Handle materials with care during manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting and stacking pallets. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and productivity. Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals while adhering to warehouse safety standards. Qualifications Proven experience operating warehouse equipment including reach trucks, forklifts (lift truck), Hi-Lo, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanning for logistics. Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management, shipping & receiving procedures. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety standards related to heavy equipment operation. Strong understanding of materials handling techniques, manual handling safety protocols, and basic math skills for inventory counting. Prior experience in warehouse management or supervision is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively. Valid certification for forklift operation is highly desirable.
