Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Local CDL A Driver / Warehouse Associate, where you will play a vital role in delivering essential freight while supporting warehouse operations. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-flat bed trailers & straight flatbed trucks on local delivery routes, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate using GPS systems to ensure accurate and timely deliveries across designated routes, including very limited over-the-road (OTR) routes when necessary. Load and unload freight efficiently, utilizing manual handling techniques and equipment to manage materials and goods in order to avoid damage due to improper securement or handling procedures. Transport cargo securely, ensuring proper load securing techniques for safe transportation of freight. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks, trailers, and cargo to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards. Assist with warehouse duties such as inventory management, cargo handling, and routine production demands. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with sales & management to coordinate route planning, delivery schedules, and address any logistical issues promptly. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial trucks including tractor-trailers preferred. Clean MVR must be provided. Proven delivery driving experience with knowledge of route driving best practices. Familiarity with flatbed trucks and processes in securement of flat bed truck loads is highly desirable. Experience in manual transmission trucks and truck loading/unloading procedures. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, and safety protocols related to commercial truck driving. Ability to handle logistics cargo safely using manual handling techniques while adhering to safety standards. Strong communication skills for coordinating deliveries and maintaining compliance documentation.
