Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team during the 2nd shift from 2:00pm to 10:00pm. This position is responsible for performing various labor tasks to support daily operations within our frozen food manufacturing facility. You will work in refrigerated and freezer environments, assisting with material handling, sanitation, packaging support, palletizing, and other labor-intensive duties while maintaining safety, quality, and food safety standards. Responsibilities Perform general labor duties throughout the facility as assigned. Move raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products between work areas. Stack, sort, organize, and palletize products and materials. Assist with loading and unloading trucks, materials, and deliveries. Maintain clean and organized production, warehouse, and storage areas. Remove trash, scrap materials, and other waste from work areas. Assist with sanitation and cleaning of equipment, workstations, and facility areas. Support production teams by supplying materials and removing completed pallets. Operate pallet jacks and other equipment as trained. Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, OSHA regulations, and food safety procedures. Work safely in refrigerated and freezer environments as required. Report damaged products, safety concerns, and equipment issues to supervisors. Assist with inventory movement, storage, and general facility support duties. Support team members and other departments as needed to meet operational goals. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Ability to work in cold, refrigerated, and freezer environments. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Strong work ethic and reliability. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous general labor, warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred but not required. Experience working in refrigerated, freezer, or temperature-controlled environments is a plus. Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and productivity. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Ability to perform physically demanding work throughout the shift. Positive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment The work environment is within a frozen food manufacturing and warehouse setting, with frequent exposure to cold, refrigerated, and freezer temperatures. This role is physically demanding, requiring continuous movement throughout the shift, regular lifting, carrying, stacking, and material handling duties. You will be required to use company-provided PPE and freezer gear as needed. The environment is fast-paced, supporting food production and distribution operations. Enjoy a 15-minute break every two hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
