Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description This role involves performing physically demanding general labor tasks in an outdoor manufacturing environment, supporting the production of concrete products. You will work with hand and power tools, assist with bending pipe and mixing materials, and help mold products to specification. The position requires a strong work ethic, reliability, and a desire to work long hours with significant opportunities for growth and pay progression. Responsibilities Assist with bending pipe and mixing materials to support the molding and production of concrete products. Operate and handle a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Read a tape measure frequently to support accurate measurements and product specifications when required. Support construction-related tasks within the manufacturing environment, including general labor and heavy labor duties. Perform heavy lifting and material handling throughout the shift. Work outdoors in a non-climate-controlled warehouse, including in hot weather conditions. Remain on your feet for extended periods, typically 8-10 hours per day or more as needed. Follow instructions, production procedures, and safety guidelines with close attention to detail. Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area despite a loud and dirty environment. Work overtime regularly, including 10+ hours of overtime per week and occasional mandatory Saturday shifts with advance notice. Demonstrate initiative by learning additional tasks, such as operating machines or supporting other areas of production, to support team goals and personal growth. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure production targets and quality standards are met. Essential Skills Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing for 8-10 hours per day. Experience in heavy labor, general labor, construction, or landscaping work. Comfort using hand tools and power tools in a production or construction environment. Willingness and ability to work outdoors in a non-climate-controlled environment, including in heat and dirty conditions. Strong work ethic with a desire to work long hours and take advantage of overtime opportunities. Attention to detail when following instructions, handling materials, and supporting production tasks. Ability to work safely in a loud industrial setting while following all safety procedures. Motivation to learn new tasks and take initiative to expand skills in different areas of production. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to read a tape measure; strongly preferred and may be required for some tasks. Concrete experience, particularly in manufacturing or construction, is a significant plus. Construction experience is a plus, especially in roles involving heavy labor or outdoor work. Experience in landscaping or other physically intensive roles is beneficial. Blueprint reading skills are a plus and can support advancement opportunities. Interest in learning to operate machinery and work in multiple areas of production. Reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production schedules. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an outdoor manufacturing facility that produces concrete structures such as manholes. Work takes place in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment that is loud, dirty, and physically demanding. You will work primarily outdoors or in open-air areas, often exposed to heat and varying weather conditions. Typical schedules involve long days, generally from early morning (around 6 a.m.) to late afternoon or early evening, with regular 10+ hours of overtime each week. Occasional Saturday shifts are mandatory, with at least three days' notice provided. You will use hand tools and power tools frequently and work around heavy equipment in an industrial setting. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, and you should expect to wear appropriate work attire suitable for a loud, dirty, and physically intensive industrial workplace. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out ofSUMMERVILLE, SC.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
