Job Description

Job Overview The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and tracking materials within the facility to support production and shipping operations. This role involves operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace. The Material Handler plays a key role in ensuring materials are available where and when they are needed. Responsibilities Load and unload pallets and other items using forklifts and pallet jacks. Move materials to designated storage and production areas, ensuring accurate tracking and placement. Pick and stage items for work orders, verifying quantities and locations. Participate in cycle counting and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels. Label, sort, repackage, wrap, and prepare items for shipment as needed. Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently, including stand-up and sit-down forklifts. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring materials are stored properly. Report safety concerns related to equipment or work conditions. Work closely with supervisors and production teams to ensure timely material flow. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience in material handling, warehousing, or manufacturing preferred. Ability to read work orders and manufacturing prints accurately. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Knowledge of safety regulations and material handling procedures. Basic computer skills for tracking and entering material movements. Key Competencies Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to OSHA guidelines. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift materials throughout the shift. Must be able to lift 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to work in varying temperatures, including hot and humid conditions in summer. Exposure to loud noise, requiring the use of hearing protection in designated areas.
