About the
Role:
The Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within the warehousing environment. This position involves receiving, unloading, sorting, and organizing incoming shipments, as well as preparing materials for outbound shipments. The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring all materials are handled safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Working across all shifts, this role supports continuous warehouse operations and contributes to meeting delivery schedules and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, the Material Handler helps optimize warehouse workflow and supports the overall supply chain by ensuring materials are available and accessible when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 55 pounds regularly. Basic math and reading skills to accurately handle inventory and documentation. Prior experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred but not required. Excellent sit-down forklift operator ability
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning technology. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience working in transportation or logistics environments. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities:
Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality. Sort, label, and store materials in designated locations within the warehouse. Prepare and stage materials for outbound shipments according to schedules. Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently. Maintain accurate inventory records through scanning and data entry into warehouse management systems. Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure stock accuracy. Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
