Overview Join our team as a Yard Associate/Material Sorter and become a vital part of our recycling operations! In this role, you will be responsible for sorting recyclable materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a clean work environment. Some customer assistance will be required as well. Responsibilities Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, oxy fuel torches, grinders, scales, wire strippers, balers, etc. to sort and move recyclable materials efficiently. Sort recyclable materials accurately, ensuring proper segregation according to regulations and company standards. Conduct routine inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety protocols and prevent accidents. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) properly to ensure safety during work activities. Support sanitation efforts by cleaning work areas, managing debris, and ensuring the site remains organized and hazard-free. Loading and unloading materials. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Prior experience operating equipment such as forklifts, and oxy fuel torches is preferred but we are willing to train the right person. Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with material handling equipment operation is a plus. Demonstrated ability to perform heavy lifting safely in outdoor environments. Knowledge of metal recycling processes, and different types of metals is advantageous. Ability to adhere to safety regulations and protocols. Previous outdoor work experience in manufacturing, sanitation, construction environments is desirable. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for sorting recyclables accurately. Heavy lifting. Ability to work in dusty, dirty, muddy environment. A proven history of work ethics and attendance is a must. CDL license is a plus but not required. Pay:
