Job Description

The role of the Marina Dockhand at Hagadone Marine Group (HMG) is to carry out the daily operations of the marina, gas dock, store & rental program. All team members provide exceptional guest and member experiences while assisting at the docks and in the store. Ensuring consistency, safety and accuracy in processes, while maintaining the property are paramount. All team members should have basic knowledge of boats, retail sales and marina operations. A vast majority of this position involves talking with guests and answering questions, so product knowledge and great customer service are essential. All efforts must be made to provide the guests with our products and amenities of the Cd'A Resort and HMG, including services, shopping, dining, golf, etc. The following duties apply to every team member of the Marina and a spirit of customer service is expected at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure all docks and water around docks are clear of debris Maintain docks and boat slip surfaces for safety and appearance including: nailing, painting, lighting fixtures, removal of cobwebs, minor plumbing repairs, rub rail & cleat repairs, etc. Set-up and maintain a safe working space around fuel docks and pump-out stations, including unlocking and locking the pumps daily Boat cleaning & fueling Moving boats to and from valet slips as well as helping customers dock and tie up boats Maintain a clean and organized store ensuring proper merchandising Handle all types of sales transactions and process according to company policies Answer the phone in a polite and courteous manner Complete all forms accurately and legibly Ensure the cleanliness of garbage bins including daily trash removal Clean customer spaces including bathrooms, showers & sitting areas Maintain flowers and plants on docks and in parking lot Keep parking lots clear of trash and debris Taking initiative on projects that need attention without direct supervision
