Job Summary:

The Driver II / Warehouse Specialist plays a vital dual role in daily supply chain operations and community food distribution across North Central Idaho. Operating Class B vehicles and standard box trucks, this position is responsible for the safe, timely transport of inventory — delivering essential supplies to partner agencies and collecting donations from local donors. Beyond the road, this role actively supports core warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control through FEFO standards, order staging, and facility maintenance. As a primary face of the organization, this role builds positive relationships with donors and community partners while strictly upholding commercial driving regulations, ServSafe food safety protocols, and cold-storage safety standards. Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Receive, pick, and distribute warehouse orders. Ensure proper handling of supporting documentation in compliance with internal control procedures. Assist in verifying food safety standards are met for products and packaging materials through visual inspection, product handling and temperature monitoring when applicable. Assist in daily opening and closing of the warehouse using best practice methods. Maintain good working knowledge of warehouse inventory. Assist in facilitating monthly inventory counts and reconciliation. Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the warehouse and facility grounds. Must possess strong time management skills and the ability to multitask. Ensure the use of a FEFO system for all inventory. Act as a route driver for timely execution of product pick-up and delivery from program partners and donors. Complete and accurately follow through on documentation for shipping, receiving, unloading, and warehousing of products, as defined by company policies and procedures. Perform cleaning and light maintenance on all vehicles and equipment, and report problems to the Distribution Operations Manager. Maintain accurate records of vehicle operations and maintenance daily. Prepare the truck/route for the next day's business, including refueling, maintenance checks, and cleaning the box truck inside and out. The inside cab must be clean, free of trash, and contain all proper safety equipment and insurance paperwork. Work cooperatively and supportively with other team members, providing assistance and fill-in coverage for other positions. Load and offload company vehicles as required. Exercise safe lifting practices. Maintain rapport with donors, partners, and their employees to foster continued support and professional working relationships. Follow all safety policies, health rules, programs and procedures and report all unsafe acts, environments, behaviors, accidents and incidents immediately. Assist with volunteer activities as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Requires High School Diploma or GED Must be a defensive driver with a Class B CDL driver's license and provide current DMV printout with no moving violations. Box truck driving experience, preferably in a food-related environment. Ability to drive automatic and standard vehicles, operate standard warehouse equipment and demonstrated ability in maintenance of standard warehouse equipment. Strong commitment to safe work practices, particularly road, vehicle, and food safety Ability to become ServSafe certified; commit to upholding policies, principles and best practices for Food Safety. Strong commitment to quality record keeping, customer service, and operational efficiency without shortcutting processes Ability to work steadily and independently with minimum supervision, follow standardized procedures and manage multiple tasks Ability to work well with other staff and to relate to donors and agency representatives. Neat, clean appearance and attire is required Familiarity with Microsoft office products and inventory software systems Ability to work diverse schedule Familiar with North Central Idaho Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Individual will drive in enclosed truck on a daily basis. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds when loading/unloading trucks and assisting in the warehouse. Ability to function in extreme temperature environments while working outside. May have to get into cramped positions to reach workspaces, such as the back of a truck. Ability to safely lift items up to 50 pounds frequently using safe lifting techniques Up to 2/3 of the time: walk, sit, squat, bend, twist, and reach at various heights above and below shoulder level Up to 1/3 of the time: push or pull; lift large, heavy, awkward objects while maneuvering in a confined space Work inside freezers and coolers with a temperature of -10 to 38°F. Pay:

$19.69 - $24.33 per hour
