Job Description

Babco Foods International has an immediate for a career minded Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver for our Addison, Illinois distribution center. Our team distributes over 20 brands of packaged and frozen consumer goods from India, Sri Lanka, Spain, Brazil, and the UK to retail stores in 46 states across the US. Our flagship, Babco-owned brand is Anand, with a wide range of South Indian food products and we are widely recognized as the market leader in the USA. Our headquarters is in New Jersey, with distribution centers in California, Illinois, Texas, and our recently opened location in Georgia. You play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our distribution center, responsible for various tasks related to receiving, storing, picking, packing, shipping and delivering products to grocery stores in the Addison, Illinois area as well as occasional . The primary objective is to ensure the smooth flow of goods in and out of the warehouse while maintaining accuracy and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection:
Receive incoming shipments and verify the accuracy of the delivery against packing lists or purchase orders. Inspect and record any damaged or missing items. Sort and label received goods for proper storage.
Storage and Inventory Control:
Safely and efficiently store items in designated warehouse locations. Maintain an organized and clean warehouse space. Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies. Perform regular cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
Order Picking and Packing:
Prepare customer orders by picking the correct items from designated storage areas. Ensure accuracy, quality and freshness of picked items. Pack items securely to prevent damage during transportation. Generate shipping labels and documentation.
Shipping:
Arrange and coordinate outbound shipments, including loading and unloading trucks. Verify shipping documents and match them with the corresponding orders. Prepare items for shipping, ensuring proper packaging and labeling. Maintain records of shipped items and track shipment status.
Equipment Operation:
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Comply with FDA requirements for food products. Follow company policies and procedures, as well as local and federal regulations. Report safety hazards and incidents immediately.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve warehouse goals. Communicate effectively with manager, coworkers, and other departments.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates have a valid Class B license with an excellent driving record (no tickets or accidents). Have experience driving a 26-ft box (straight) reefer truck with the use of a lift gate. Have a current DOT medical card. Knowledge of using tablets to track orders, use an ELD log and to communicate via email and WhatsApp. Experience using an ELD log. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a fast-moving warehouse or distribution center. Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management. Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good physical condition, as the job may involve heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking. Basic computer skills and use of a tablet. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to lift boxes up to 30 lbs. Ability to retrieve product from cold storage room as needed. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment. Ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
