Material Handler | Deer Creek Titan Industries - 4.2 Deer Creek, IL Job Details Full-time $18.38 - $22.00 an hour 4 days ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Forklift Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our warehouse operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently moving, loading, and unloading steel and related materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment. A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is not required but preferred . This role requires strong mechanical aptitude , keen attention to detail , and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards . The Material Handler will work closely with shipping, receiving, and production teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of materials within the facility. Forklift experience is required. Responsibilities Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to move structural steel materials safely through the warehouse. Load and unload steel products, ensuring accuracy and protection of materials. Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments. Conduct regular inspections of material handling equipment and report any maintenance needs. Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and maintain inventory accuracy. Maintain organized staging and storage areas in accordance with company procedures. Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to minimize risks associated with operating heavy machinery. Assist with inventory counts and material tracking using warehouse management systems. Communicate effectively with team members, drivers, and supervisors to coordinate daily operations. Support basic equipment repairs and demonstrate mechanical knowledge when troubleshooting issues. Qualifications Proven experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts and handling heavy materials within a warehouse or distribution facility . Familiarity with various material handling equipment, including forklifts (reach trucks, order pickers), pallet jacks, and overhead cranes. Valid forklift operator certification is preferred; training may be provided for qualified candidates. CDL preferred but not required. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately required. Experience in shipping and receiving processes of heavy material is strongly desired. Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift. Safety first mindset with a strong commitment to workplace safety and maintaining a clean, organized environment.
