General Laborer Tube Sorter $18/hr Job Description The General Laborer Tube Sorter plays a key role in the manufacturing process by inspecting, sorting, stacking, and packaging steel tubing. This position focuses on maintaining product quality, meeting customer specifications, and supporting a safe and efficient production environment. Responsibilities Inspect steel tubing produced in the manufacturing process to ensure it meets established quality specifications and customer requirements. Sort tubing according to size, type, and quality standards, following production guidelines and work instructions. Stack steel tubing safely and efficiently to prepare products for packaging, storage, or further processing. Package finished tubing in accordance with company procedures to protect products during handling and shipment. Perform basic quality checks, including visual inspection and measurement, to verify accuracy and consistency. Use measuring devices to confirm that tubing dimensions meet required tolerances. Follow general production workflows, supporting continuous movement of materials through the manufacturing process. Assist with general labor tasks on the production floor as needed, including material handling and basic clean-up. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area. Communicate any quality or production issues to the appropriate personnel to help resolve problems quickly and prevent defects. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience performing general labor tasks such as material handling, stacking, and basic clean-up. Background in general production work, including supporting continuous manufacturing processes. Ability to perform packaging tasks, including preparing and securing products for shipment or storage. Basic inspection and quality control skills, including visual inspection of parts and products. Ability to read and use measuring devices to verify product dimensions and tolerances. Attention to detail when inspecting and sorting products to meet quality specifications. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established production procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with steel or metal products in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with basic quality inspection practices and standards. Ability to interpret simple production documentation or work instructions. Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting production schedules. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Fairbury, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
