Full Job Description Description:
The Equipment Operator/Material Handler is responsible for safe and efficient movement, storage, and replenishment of inventory throughout the warehouse. This position operates material-handling equipment in narrow aisles and high-density storage areas, loads and unloads inventory, and uses handheld RF technology to accurately scan and track products. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This position will follow a phased onboarding and training plan. Training and initial operations will take place at our Glendale Heights facility, with a planned transition to our brand-new warehouse in Joliet as operations are relocated. Upon completion of the transition, this role will be based in Joliet on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move pallets through narrow warehouse aisles and high-density storage racks. Safely and efficiently load and unload palletized and floor-loaded inventory from shipping containers. Perform daily pre-shift and post-shift equipment and battery inspections and report any safety or maintenance concerns. Scan, track, and verify products using handheld RF scanning devices. Replenish primary pick locations from reserve storage rack locations to maintain inventory availability. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment while following all company policies and OSHA safety requirements. Consistently complete daily work assignments accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Requirements:
Requirements & Qualifications 1-2 years of warehouse, forklift, or material-handling experience preferred. Basic math and reading skills. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
