Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, organization, and distribution of raw materials, components, finished goods, and supplies throughout the warehouse and/or production facility. This position plays an important role in supporting production and shipping operations by ensuring materials are received, stored, staged, and delivered accurately and efficiently while maintaining safety, quality, and inventory control standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and unload incoming shipments. Verify quantities and shipping documentation against purchase orders, packing slips, and other receiving documents. Safely store materials in designated warehouse locations according to established procedures. Pick, stage, and transport materials to production, warehouse, or shipping areas. Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other material-handling equipment. Maintain accurate inventory records using scanners, inventory management systems, ERP/WMS software, or manual documentation. Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits. Ensure materials and products are properly labeled, organized, and stored. Monitor inventory levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to appropriate personnel. Assist with shipping, packaging, order fulfillment, and other warehouse activities as needed. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Work closely with production, shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams to maintain efficient material flow. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience preferred. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment; certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification. Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management or warehouse management systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Ability to work in a fast-paced production or warehouse environment. Willingness to work required shifts, including overtime, weekends, or holidays when business needs require. Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification. Experience with
ERP, WMS, RF
scanners, or inventory management systems. Previous experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment. Experience with shipping and receiving procedures. Experience handling raw materials, components, finished goods, or production supplies. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of basic warehouse and material-handling procedures. Physical Requirements & Work Environment The position may involve exposure to typical warehouse and manufacturing conditions, including noise, dust, temperature variations, outdoor weather conditions, and other industrial environments. The employee must be able to: Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the facility for extended periods. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Safely operate or become certified to operate required material-handling equipment. Perform repetitive material-handling and warehouse activities. Work safely while maintaining productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$16.50 - $17.00 per hour
