Job Description

SUMMARY:
Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near plant, yard, or work site.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain tubing to be moved to warehouse for storage and tubing to be moved to the cutting area. Loads machines with tubing to be cut. Removes finished goods with a lift truck, closes boxes or contains, and may wrap with shrink wrap or band with steel strapping as needed. Moves tubing to the warehouse or to cutting area utilizing lift truck. Verifies quantities on inbound shipments of tubing. Assists inventory control in locating tubing where tags are missing. Attaches inventory control tags on inbound tubing and finished goods. Assists in Shipping Department, as required. Assist in physical inventory on a quarterly basis, or as required. Builds boxes, prepare containers and racks for finished goods as needed for production. Operates industrial truck to assist loading or moving materials and products. Operates shrink wrap machine, electronic scale, pneumatic banding tools, and pneumatic box staplers. Assists in the Recut Department as required. Keep work area clean and organized. Other duties as assigned by management .
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. 1-3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. The ability to operate forklifts and side loaders are preferred. Completion of the companys Tow Motor Training courses and successfully pass the evaluation is required.
