Material Handler Aerotek - 3.7 Lawrence, KS Job Details Full-time | Contract From $17.50 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid holidays Health insurance Dental insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Lifting equipment Computer operation Forklift Driving Industrial equipment Materials handling Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Material Handler (Industrial Fork Truck Operator) - Amarr - Lawrence, KS A material handler must have experience working/driving an industrial fork truck, such as medium sized, narrow aisle SwingMast, and heavy-duty industrial fork trucks. The material handler also monitors, manages, lifts, loads, unloads, stores, and arranges various materials throughout their daily shift. This is the ideal position for the person who loves to work hard and take initiative without needing to have constant direction.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ability to safely and effectively operate an industrial fork truck with SwingMast and obtain certification.
- Prepared to move effectively and efficiently on the industrial fork truck through a compact, high-volume facility with continual pedestrian traffic.
- Receives, unloads, verifies and correctly stores all material entering the company.
- Systematically tracks all material using a scanner and desktop computer with a high level of accuracy.
- Properly identifies materials and locations to maintain efficient, organized, and safe storage.
- Monitors and maintains steel coil tracking.
- Supplies the production department material and services in an efficient and timely manner.
- Maintains highly accurate reporting and assist in communicating any knowledge of discrepancies in inventory.
- Completes timely and accurate system transactions when material is moved or transferred.
- Reports all material scrap, equipment or property damage when operating material handling equipment.
- General housekeeping of the facility and upkeep of assigned Industrial Truck.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by leadership.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing/Walking:
Job requires standing throughout the entire shift. Short distance walking of 5-15 feet on a periodic basis during the shift, depending upon the position assigned.Lifting/ Carrying:
Job requires lifting and stacking of banded materials to various levels. Maximum required individual lifting limit is forty-five (45) pounds. Must be able safely work with another team member to carry or lift materials in excess of forty-five (45) pounds. Frequency of lifting and carrying is job task dependent.Pushing and Pulling:
Pushing of carts is often required in the duties of a PA. Occasional pulling to steer the cart is required (appropriate training techniques will be covered on this area for your safety). A force of fifty (50) pounds. is often required to move a loaded cart. Pushing forces required in excess of fifty (50) pounds. requires two persons.- Light office duties to include the use of computers, scanners, and tablets.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- 1 year or more of active industrial truck operation in high paced environment.
- SwingMast operation experience preferred.
- 1 year or more inventory management experience.
