Job Title:
General Laborer Job Description The General Laborer supports facility operations by performing a variety of cleaning, production, packaging, forklift, and general labor tasks to prepare the site for a new production line and maintain a safe, orderly environment within a food industry setting. Responsibilities Clean and maintain work areas throughout the facility to ensure a safe, sanitary, and organized environment. Prepare designated areas for installation and operation of a new production line by removing debris, organizing materials, and supporting setup activities as directed. Assist with production tasks, including handling raw materials and finished products according to established procedures. Perform packaging duties such as assembling containers, packing products, labeling, and preparing items for storage or shipment. Operate a forklift or assist with material handling activities to move products, supplies, and equipment safely within the facility, if trained and authorized. Follow all food industry hygiene and cleanliness standards while performing cleaning and production tasks. Support general labor duties such as loading and unloading materials, stacking and organizing inventory, and disposing of waste properly. Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or housekeeping concerns to supervision promptly. Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including proper use of equipment and adherence to facility rules and procedures. Essential Skills Previous experience working in the food industry. Ability to perform general labor tasks such as cleaning, lifting, carrying, and organizing materials. Capability to support production and packaging activities in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to follow strict cleanliness and hygiene standards required in food-related facilities. Attention to detail when cleaning and preparing areas for a new production line. Reliability and strong work ethic, with the ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating a forklift or working in a material handling role. Background in production or packaging environments. Comfort working in a variety of tasks, including cleaning, general labor, and basic equipment support. Ability to adapt to changing priorities as the facility prepares and transitions to a new production line. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elizabethtown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
