Lumber Yard Associate

POSITION SUMMARY

The lumber yard associate is the heart of the company and helps achieve objectives by assisting customers, maintaining adequate inventory, and pulling special orders from the yard. When you are not working directly with customers, your duties include helping to load and unload shipments, checking that the yard is clear of obstructions, and making sure that different wood is cataloged correctly and stored in the proper place.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Providing excellent customer service Pull job packs with designated Odoo "Pick" ticket Verify product count and accuracy based off "Pick" ticket Accurately building loads and assisting customers with locating indicated products and loading. Loading materials onto company delivery vehicles and customer vehicles Maintaining yard in a clean and orderly condition. Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma One-year relevant experience preferred Ability to read a tape measure Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles (Forklift, Moffit, etc) Valid driver's license, preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 80 lbs Ability to work in seasonal weather conditions Summertown Metals of Hopkinsville offers competitive wages contingent upon experience, education, and skills. Starting rate for this role is $16.00/hr. The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.
