Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently moving raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products between production stations, storage areas, and designated locations. This position requires forklift experience, close attention to detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate a forklift to load, unload, transport, and position materials. Safely move and stage materials between production stations, departments, storage areas, and shipping locations. Verify material identification, quantity, and destination before moving materials. Ensure material tags and required paperwork remain with the correct material. Follow work orders, material requests, and supervisor instructions. Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed. Inspect material-handling equipment before use and report any issues. Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas and material-storage locations. Report material shortages, damage, identification issues, or other discrepancies. Participate in inventory counts and material-location verification when requested. Complete overhead crane training and become qualified to operate overhead cranes. Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous forklift operating experience required. Previous material-handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred. Willingness and ability to complete overhead crane training. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Dependable attendance, punctuality, and good communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, climb, lift, and carry materials within company-established limits. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Ability to work around machinery, moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures while wearing required personal protective equipment.
Pay:
From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
