They're responsible for gathering products for each order before it's sent from the storage area. In addition to lifting and moving boxes throughout the shift, they also build the pallets and load the trailers as told by the warehouse supervisor to make it as easy as possible for the stores to unload. Of course, none of this can happen without a safe and clean shipping area, they take care of that too. This is just a general overview of their job duties. - Use of safe work practices including safe body mechanics.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Build sturdy pallets to fill store orders with warehouse product and prepare them for shipment to stores.
- Safe operation of a pallet jack.
- To be able to read a store order and locate specific storage areas within the warehouse.
- Load trailers with secured pallets using a trailer diagram.
- Visual acuity is essential for warehouse safety.
- Hearing is essential for warehouse safety.
- Mandatory overtime when required.
