Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Receiving Team Member is responsible for unloading truck shipments, labeling and tagging products. This position requires strong attention to detail, to ensure product is properly inspected and organized after delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Verifies incoming deliveries using receiving calendar. Communicates with buyers regarding discrepancies and missing POs. Processes receiving in system to ensure inventory visibility. Creates and manages product tags and UPC verification. Sends invoices and maintains communication flow with buyers. Assists with system locations and inventory accuracy. Provides operational support when available. Greet and process truck drivers in preparation of receiving shipment contents. Evaluate received product, reporting any damaged or subpar materials. Unload truck shipments and organize product by type/number. Ensure proper count and physical inspection of product based on purchase orders. Label and tag product and place on pallets for distribution to sales areas. Operate equipment such as tractor and forklift. Place incoming product in the sales areas as directed by the supervisor.
OTHER DUTIES
Maintain function and appearance of work area. Follow all safety policies and procedures. Maintain clear and open communication with management. Execute the duties of the position in alignment with the Company Mission and Conduct Policies. Use technology as required by the position. Complete required annual trainings as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Experience working in a warehouse/receiving dock environment preferred. OSHA Trained and Certified Forklift Operator preferred. Experience operating a motor vehicle and a valid driver's license required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to effectively communicate with team members and other departments. Product knowledge of farm and nursery material. Knowledge of common warehouse operations and procedures. Ability to operate tractor and/or forklift or willingness to learn. System and farm protocol knowledge. Ability to safely, accurately, and efficiently complete projects from start to finish. Strong attention to detail.
