Material Handler

Job Description

Role Overview The Material Handler plays a key role in daily production by accurately picking, packing, staging, and moving materials using a stand‑up reach truck in a fast‑paced warehouse environment. You'll support safe, efficient product flow while following strict quality, food safety, and documentation standards. What You'll Do Operate material‑handling equipment including stand‑up reach trucks, stand‑up forklifts, and pallet jacks to move, pick, and stage product safely. Follow SOPs and production schedules to ensure accurate, timely order fulfillment. Pick, pack, and stage products for shipment or further processing with strong attention to detail. Inspect inbound shipments for accuracy, quality, and food safety compliance; report issues promptly. Perform receiving tasks including unloading trucks, verifying product, and updating inventory systems. Use RF scanners and warehouse software to complete documentation and maintain inventory accuracy. Maintain GMP- and SSOP-compliant work areas , ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times. Report equipment or safety concerns immediately to supervisors. Support general warehouse operations including loading, unloading, inventory control, and material movement. Participate in required training and apply procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. What Makes You a Strong Fit Direct experience operating stand‑up reach trucks and stand‑up forklifts . 1+ year of picking/packing or warehouse production experience. Hands-on experience with loading, unloading, receiving, and order picking. Proficiency with RF scanners and basic warehouse documentation. Strong material‑handling skills and safe equipment operation. Ability to follow SOPs, production schedules, and safety rules consistently. Experience in food production or
GMP/SSOP
environments. Familiarity with quality inspection of inbound shipments. Comfort working at height on high storage racks. Basic computer literacy for warehouse systems and documentation. Work around high storage racks; comfort with heights required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooklyn Center, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
