ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a General Laborer in our Asphalt division.

The asphalt general laborer is responsible for supporting the paving crew by performing site preparation, material handling, and cleanup to ensure efficient and safe asphalt operations. They assist with hand-grading, raking, and other tasks as needed, while following project plans, quality standards, and safety procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Assist asphalt crew with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment to job sites across PG County and Anne Arundel County.
  • Perform manual labor tasks including site preparation, cleanup, and support for paving operations.
  • Support paver, roller, and lute operators to ensure smooth workflow and quality asphalt placement.
  • Hand-grade and rake asphalt under supervision to help achieve proper grade and slope.
  • Follow project plans, instructions, and safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and organized condition.
  • Eager and willing to learn operation of heavy paving equipment under supervision for career growth.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members to assist in completing daily production goals.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
    Education:
    High school diploma or equivalent
      Required Work Experience:
      Minimum 1+ years of hands-on experience in the Asphalt industry
        Travel Requirements:
        Daily travel required, Must have reliable transportation
        • Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high-quality workmanship
        • Willingness to work on job sites throughout PG County and Anne Arundel County
        • Eager to learn and develop skills in asphalt paving, including potential heavy equipment operation
        • Ability to follow instructions, project plans, and safety procedures
        • Team-oriented with good communication skills to work effectively with crew members
        • Prior experience in construction, paving, or general labor is a plus but not required
        • Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude toward supporting the paving crew
        • Follow safety procedures and traffic control requirements at all times
        • Maintain clean equipment and work areas at the end of each shift
        Physical Strength and Endurance:
        Capable of performing physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing, and working outdoors.
        Additional Requirements:
        • Successful candidates must ad to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
        Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven w the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
