Job Description
Position Overview Ellington Mechanical is seeking a motivated Sheet Metal Mid-Entry Level / Field Material Handler to join our growing team. This position plays a vital role in supporting superintendents and foremen with project execution, including punchout work, material mobilization, and general jobsite coordination. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to advance their skills in the mechanical trade. Key Responsibilities Assist in punchout work and completion of HVAC and sheet metal installations. Support superintendents in material mobilization , ensuring tools, equipment, and supplies are properly staged for project needs. Perform basic sheet metal installation and fabrication tasks under supervision. Help maintain clean and organized worksites in compliance with company safety standards. Transport materials and tools between warehouse, supply houses, and jobsites as directed. Communicate effectively with team members to support project scheduling and efficiency. Learn and apply mechanical skills in preparation for advancement within the trade. Coordinate with warehouse and field teams for material pickup and delivery as needed. Learn and apply trade skills to advance within the sheet metal department. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required). 1-3 years of experience in sheet metal, HVAC, or construction preferred; apprenticeship experience a plus. Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and blueprints is a plus. Strong work ethic with attention to detail and willingness to learn. Reliable , punctual , and safety-focused. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various jobsite conditions.
