Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Receive, store, select, pack, and ship warehouse inventory
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly. Verifies the quantities and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list. Prepares a receiving report if none is available. Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items; appropriately reports/records any discrepancies. Accurately places materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner. Enters quantities received against the purchase order in the computer system and prints back orders and inventory stock put away list. Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers. Prepares shipping documentation. Reviews orders to determine if they were picked correctly. Safely and accurately cuts designated lengths of wire. Addresses maintenance issues of wire cutting tools and machinery; accurately identifies various types and sizes of wires. Ensures warehouse/equipment is maintained on a regular basis. Safely operates all necessary equipment in work area. Accurately identifies and counts stock materials as listed on the cycle count list. Consistent attendance at the workplace is required and considered an essential function of the job. Performs other related duties as dictated by business necessity or assigned by management.
Competencies:
Able to identify produce by size, type, style, color or product code. Possess solid reading skills - must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked. Possess basic math and reasoning skills. Possess certification of power-truck equipment. Understand and execute instructions. Understand warehouse footprint. Work Environment Warehouse environment. May be some exposure to dust, heat or cold, and other seasonal changes. Comfortable with working at heights up to 30 feet. Physical Demands Able to move / lift from 50 - 100 lbs. unassisted. Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment. Position spends majority of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing. Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Occasional overtime or Saturday work may be required as job duties demand. Qualifications High school diploma or
GED. 1-3
years of Warehouse and distribution experience.
