Temp To Full-Time Our client is seeking laborers for their Cement Factory in Detroit, on the boarder of Dearborn. Employees will be responsible for a variety of duties; Janitorial, clearing jammed conveyor lines, oiling machinery and making sure it is running properly, jack hammering cement, shoveling, and more. This is a 1st shift position (7a-3:30p), Monday-Friday with possible overtime, $19 per hour. Must have Steel Toed Work Boots, be able to pass a pre-employment 10-panel drug screen & 7-year background investigation. Must also be able to be on your feet for the entire shift and work in a dusty and non-temperature-controlled environment.

Job Summary:

We are seeking reliable and hardworking temporary General Labor Housekeeping employees to maintain a clean and safe environment at our production facility. The primary goal is to clean various areas of the plant, including removing debris and material spillage from the production process, to support cleanliness and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean various area of the plant, including machinery components, material bins or tanks, grinding mill screens, and under conveyor belts, to remove debris and material spillage or obstruction from the production process. Perform labor-intensive tasks such as sweeping, shoveling, or jackhammering material as needed. Support plant cleanliness and safety protocols through consistent and efficient task completion. Work with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Collaborate effectively with teammates to ensure a productive and cohesive work environment. Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing provided personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during work hours.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.

Basic Comprehension:

Must be able to perform basic math and comprehend general normal concepts.

Communication:

Basic oral and written communication skills are necessary to understand instructions, report issues, and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

Mandatory Training:

Must successfully complete mandatory MSHA Part 46 assessment training before engaging in any work.

Punctuality & Reliability:

Consistent attendance and punctuality are paramount for maintain operational flow and team effectiveness.

Teamwork & Collaboration:

Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other teammates in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Experience:

Previous experience in a physically demanding role, industrial housekeeping, or general labor within a plant or manufacturing environment is preferred but not strictly required.

Physical Fitness & Endurance:

Demonstrated ability to perform constant, labor-intensive tasks for extended periods, must be physically fit with high endurance to sustain demanding work throughout the shift.

Lifting capability:

Proven ability to frequently lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently.

Safety Acumen:

A Strong, unwavering commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. A good understand of general production and industrial safety practices is essential.
