Job Description

  • Job Title: General Laborer
  • Job Description
  • We are seeking dedicated General Laborers to join our dynamic team and contribute to our operations at Detroit Aggregate. As a General Laborer, you will play a vital role in our production process, ensuring the efficient loading and handling of materials essential for the creation of concrete products.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Load bags of sand, slag, and other concrete mix materials into loaders to be transported via tanker trucks. + Move pallets on and off trucks, and stack pallets of finished products. + Shovel sand, slag, and other concrete mix materials as needed. + Maintain cleanliness in the work area. + Break up rocks as part of the production process.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively during an 8-hour shift. + Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions for an entire shift. + Ability to bend, twist, and squat throughout the duration of the shift. + Capability to wear a respirator when necessary, ensuring it fits properly without interference from facial hair.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Experience in general labor, construction, concrete, packaging, loading, and production. + Skills in machine operation, concrete finishing, carpentry, and use of power and hand tools.

  • Work Environment
  • The work environment requires flexibility in shifts, as training begins on the first shift but may transition to nights.

Personal protective equipment such as respirators and coveralls are provided by the company. Work boots are required but do not need to be steel-toed. Employees should dress appropriately for outdoor work, especially in colder seasons, with beanies, gloves, and sweatshirts recommended.

  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $25.

00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
