Job Description

  • Material Handlers Needed in Grand Rapids
  • + •_1st & 2nd Shift Available_•+ •_$18-21/hour_•+ •_Start ASAP_•Job Description•This role supports plant operations by safely moving materials, operating forklifts, and maintaining a clean, organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.

You will ensure materials flow efficiently in and out of production machines and assist with loading and unloading trucks to keep production running smoothly.

  • Responsibilities
  • + Load, unload, and transport materials and finished products within the plant and yard in a safe and efficient manner.

+ Operate industrial forklifts (hilos) to move products, load trucks, and stage materials for production.

+ Keep materials flowing smoothly in and out of production machines to support continuous operations.

+ Manage scrap removal from production areas and ensure proper handling and disposal.

+ Maintain clean, organized work areas by following 5S safety and housekeeping standards.

+ Inspect equipment before use and report any issues or safety concerns promptly.

+ Follow all safety procedures and plant guidelines while performing material handling tasks.

  • Essential Skills
  • + At least 1 year of experience operating a forklift in an industrial or similar environment.

+ Proficiency in material handling, including loading, unloading, and transporting materials safely.

+ Ability to operate industrial hilos (forklifts) confidently and safely.

+ Capability to support production by coordinating the flow of materials in and out of machines.

+ Commitment to following 5S and safety standards in all work activities.

  • Work Environment
  • This position is based in a plant or yard setting and involves frequent movement of materials throughout the facility.

You will work on structured shifts, either 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., which may include standing, walking, and operating forklifts for extended periods. The environment includes active production machines, truck loading areas, and scrap handling zones, requiring consistent attention to safety and adherence to 5S housekeeping standards. Work attire should be appropriate for an industrial setting, supporting safe and comfortable movement throughout the plant.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $18.

00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
