reviews Material Handler ensures the uninterrupted and safe operation of manufacturing, warehousing, and shipping functions by performing timely, accurate, and efficient movement of materials, products, and freight throughout the plant, supporting production, inventory control, and customer delivery requirements. The following are critical duties and responsibilities required of the
Material Handler:
1. Production Support Deliver raw materials and work-in-progress to designated production areas. Move finished goods between production phases. Ensure timely and accurate flow of materials to meet production schedules. 2. Shipping & Receiving Load and unload materials from trucks based on schedules and product requirements. Verify incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation. Communicate effectively with drivers and maintain positive interactions with logistics partners. 3. Warehousing & Inventory Management Store and stage products safely in designated locations. Maintain accurate location data and stock status within the Amtech system. Conduct routine cycle counts as assigned. 4. Equipment Operation & Maintenance Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Complete daily inspections and checklists on assigned equipment. Report and document mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately. 5. Utility Operations Operate unitizers and perform hand banding of product when needed. Support corrugated manufacturing processes by moving materials promptly to the next phase. Collaborate with team members to meet production and shipping goals. Education Requirements High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required Forklift certification preferred (must be obtained post-hire if not already certified) Experience Requirements Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment (corrugated industry preferred) Valid driver's license required Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Regular exposure to warehouse and production environments (dust, noise, forklifts) Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and operating machinery for extended periods May involve overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts depending on operational demand Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this job.
