Job Description
The Warehouse / Backup Local Driver position is responsible for helping to load/unload transfer and route trucks, processing inventory shipping/receiving, assisting customer walk-in cylinder exchanges, backing up the local route driver, filling propane cylinders, inventory maintenance, and backing up inside sales as needed. This employee will also be needed in and must be willing to work out of the Battle Creek location at least one day per week. Founded in 1938, Purity is a family-owned welding and industrial gas supply distributor. We service numerous industries across Michigan and Northern Indiana. This position includes a very competitive compensation package that includes a competitive hourly rate, participation in the Company's quarterly bonus program, and an opportunity for overtime hours. This is a full-time hourly position with hours that typically range from 7:00AM to 5:00PM Monday through Friday, which may vary based on workload and Company need. Major Functions Works closely with route and transfer drivers to help load/unload trucks. Assist in the filling of propane cylinders. Assist the counter sales team as needed. Inventory control of both hardgoods and cylinders. Currently have or willing to obtain a Class A CDL and needed endorsements and be willing to deliver products as needed. Be willing and able to travel to the Battle Creek, Michigan store to help in similar capacities. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Needed Communication - able to understand and carry out oral instructions, able to read and carry out written instructions. Physical - ability to move heavy objects (60#'s JSA-04). Aptitude - able to work as a team player, take pride in the quality of work produced, work with computers and compute numbers. Experience - High School or better diploma preferred, work with computers and MS office products preferred.
