Job Description

About Whalebacker:
We're an independent, rapidly growing fulfillment company in downtown Saginaw, and we work with some genuinely cool brands. Our clients are creating the next wave of content in tabletop gaming, indie comics, collectibles, and high-end apparel. When someone opens a beautifully packaged board game or a limited-edition art book, you're part of what made that experience happen. We're more than just another warehouse, we're so much bigger: the explosion of creator-driven, direct-to-customer fulfillment. You're not just packing boxes. You're enabling independent creators and small brands to compete with the big players, getting their products into customers' hands with care and precision. That's worth bragging about. We promote from within, and we do it seriously. Our current managers and partners started as hourly employees on the warehouse floor. They showed up, did excellent work, and grew into salaried management and ownership roles. That path is real. As we expand, so do the opportunities. When you start, you'll get raises at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year as you grow into the role and prove yourself.
The Role:
This is hands-on, physical work, and it matters. You'll be receiving shipments, picking and packing orders, managing inventory, and shipping products out to creators and customers who are counting on you to get it right. You'll operate pallet jacks, use our warehouse management system, build pallets, lift heavy items, and keep everything organized. The work is fast-paced, and accuracy is everything. But here's what makes this different: you're not just moving boxes. You're the final touch on someone's creative project. When a customer opens that package, they should feel the care that went into packing it. They should be excited. They should know someone gave it attention. If you're the kind of person who likes coming to work and giving it your all, knowing that the package leaving your hands is going to make someone's day better, this is the place for you.
Who Succeeds Here:
You have warehouse experience (or are eager to learn), and you're comfortable with physical work. You can lift regularly, handle a fast pace, and stay organized. You're detail-oriented. You have or have reliable access to transportation to Saginaw. You're someone who understands that punctuality and reliability aren't just rules, they're what lets your team function. Tech literacy is essential for this role. You'll be working with iPads, warehouse management systems, and scanners as part of your daily workflow. Comfort with technology and the ability to learn new systems quickly isn't optional, it's core to the job. But most importantly, you care about quality. You take pride in packing a box the right way. You understand that every order reflects on your team and our clients.
What You'll Get:
Starting pay of $14.50 per hour with built-in raises at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year that can take you to $18+ by the end of your first year. In-person work in our Saginaw facility. The chance to be part of something that's reshaping how creators reach customers. Room to learn, grow into different roles, and advance within a company that's actively expanding. A team that values your contributions and invests in people who show up and do good work.
Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time Pay:
$14.50 - $15.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
