PRIMARY FUNCTION

Safely operate a forklift to load and secure completed pontoon boats onto trailers and transport trucks for shipment. When not engaged in loading duties, work within the assembly department supporting boat build processes to maintain production flow and departmental efficiency.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Previous forklift operation experience required; valid forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon hire Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or assembly environment preferred High school diploma or equivalent required

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Operate a forklift to load, position, and secure pontoon boats onto trailers safely and efficiently Inspect boats and loading equipment prior to loading to ensure safe transport and prevent damage Properly strap, block, and secure boats for transport in accordance with company and DOT standards Perform routine forklift inspections and report maintenance needs Assist in the assembly department with boat building tasks when not actively loading Follow all assembly work instructions and quality standards while supporting production lines Communicate with shipping, production, and materials teams to coordinate loading schedules Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in both the loading and assembly areas Assist materials or production department with other critical tasks as assigned by supervisor

SKILLS PREFERRED

Safe and competent forklift operation, including maneuvering in tight spaces Knowledge of proper load securement and trailer loading practices Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools for assembly tasks Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and multitask between loading and assembly duties Able to collaborate with other team members to ensure all job requirements are met daily Good communication and organizational skills Strong problem-solving skills Self-motivated, hardworking, and dependable Excellent time management skills Willing to take on additional tasks as assigned Able to adjust weekly work schedule as required

INTERACTIONS

Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one setting with fellow employees.

TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED

Attend any mandatory company training that is deemed necessary for this position.

WEIGHT DEMANDS/EXERTION OF FORCE

Occasional lifting may be required up to 50 pounds.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

The position normally requires constant standing, walking, use of stairs, crouching/squatting, stooping, reaching, climbing on/around boats and trailers, and materials handling.
