Job Overview Warehouse Worker will work under the direction of the Foreman to assemble and stage units of lumber for both delivery and pickup. Warehouse Worker will assist in all activities related to receiving and storage of product. Warehouse Worker will be required to use heavy machinery (i.e. a forklift) constantly in fulfillment of their work duties. Warehouse Worker will also use other machinery such as saws, sanders, and air compressors as the need arises. Responsibilities and Duties Pull, fill, package, and set up orders for delivery and pickup Load and unload units of lumber from trucks, trains, etc. Stock all material received in appropriate storage locations Operate forklift safely and efficiently Safely operate banding equipment, saws, and other necessary facility equipment Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment Qualifications Education High School GED or equivalent Experience 1 year forklift experience preferred Experience in lumber industry preferred but not required Specific Skills Forklift Operation Attention to detail Verbal and written communication Basic math (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication) Ability to identify different species, dimensions, grades, and milled patterns of lumber Personal Characteristics Works well with others and independently with some direction Certifications Forklift Certification Physical Demands Frequently climbing up into and down out of forklift (about 4' distance) Frequently lifting or moving upwards of 50 pounds Lifting over 100 pounds on occasion Frequently turning while lifting Frequently bending/stooping over Standing and walking for extended periods of time
