JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/ObjectiveDistribution of material and control of inventory as well as verifies all materials received and shipped is correct. Essential FunctionsCharged with the responsibility of defining obstacles and aid in creating solutions concerning safety, identifying safety hazards, and suggesting corrective actions.

Follow company safety practices and procedures to provide a safe work environment for all team members.

Scan or enter all material upon shipping and receiving material for storage correctly and accurately.

Rotate between positions daily and have outstanding team communication.

Keep a clean and neat workplace and make sure to leave the next shift prepared for their shiftResponsible to ensure that all material is matched up with paperwork and tagged properly.

Responsible to write down all necessary information upon shipping/receiving of material.

Responsible for following standard shipping/receiving and crane guidelines.

Hilo and Crane license need to be obtained within the first six months if possible.

Transferring of material onto customer owned pallets.

Pulling and staging of material to fulfill customer orders.

Assist in placing coils on trailers and securing them down.

Fill out or enter Daily Inspection forms for equipment.

All other duties assigned.

May take direction from the Assistant Plant Manager and Plant Manager. QualificationsPrior experience in the steel / aluminum industry preferredPrevious crane and hi-lo operator certification a plusAble to pass certification of power industrial equipment (Hilo and Crane)Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience working with lift trucks, overhead cranes and mobile cranes a plusExcellent coordination, focus and dedication to following safety protocolsMust be detail oriented, self-starter able to meet deadlines. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills as well as good organization skills. Must be accurate in working with numbers and willing to help in other areas of shipping and receiving department. Must have the ability and desire to work with people in the team concept and be innovative and willing to participate in internal programs, communications, work simplification, quality improvement.

Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds or stands/sit's or walks for more than eight (8) hours per day.

Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.

Steel Toed boots, gloves, and safety glasses (required when cropping) and Kevlar sleeves when near material, are required at all times when in shop. Ability to operate heavy machinery on a daily basis.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, ascending/descending stairs, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. The position also requires being able to operate and be certified / licensed to operate powered industrial equipment such as Hilo's and Cranes.
