Job Description
A General Laborer is an entry-level position that performs general lumber mill responsibilities including stacking lumber and moving inventory. They are responsible for manual labor tasks and support production operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Execute daily work instructions including, but not limited to, operating saws, moulders, ect, and stacking lumber off said machine centers. Learn and understand quality and stacking standards. Ability to or willingness to learn to operate material handling equipment. Assists in performing basic maintenance to equipment. Gain an understanding of mill operations and production processes. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to safety standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Attend all safety meetings and any necessary production meetings. Keep production area clean and free of hazards. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior experience in a mill and/or wood production work environment preferred. Communicate effectively with any levels/departments within the organization High school diploma. Reliable attendance.
