This role involves hands-on physical work, including loading/unloading, operating forklifts and skid steers, conducting cycle counts, and maintaining cleanliness and safety across the facility. Success in this role requires reliability, attention to detail, equipment competency, and a strong sense of ownership over the workspace. Core Responsibilities Inventory & Materials Handling Maintain accurate warehouse inventory levels and update as needed Load and unload trucks with materials and construction-related equipment Support routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits Prepare materials for job site deliveries and organize outgoing shipments Packaging & Shipping Package finished products for delivery (shrink-wrapping, boxing, labeling) Label and organize materials for easy retrieval and accountability Verify outgoing orders for accuracy and completion Facility & Yard Maintenance Perform general warehouse cleaning and upkeep of work areas Maintain yard organization and clear access to equipment/materials Support snow removal, trash disposal, and seasonal maintenance as needed Complete general facility maintenance tasks as assigned Equipment Operation & Safety Operate forklifts, skid steers, and other equipment safely and efficiently Conduct pre-use inspections on all equipment and report issues Follow safety procedures when moving or storing materials Ensure vehicles and equipment are parked/stored in proper locations Minimum Qualifications 1+ year of warehouse experience Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, or similar commercial equipment Ability to lift 60 lbs. and carry 30-40 lbs. frequently Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Outlook) Self-starter with strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work both independently and within a team setting Preferred Skills OSHA forklift certification or similar equipment training Strong multitasking ability in fast-paced environments Knowledge of construction materials or telecom-related products Ability to communicate effectively with internal field crews and external vendors Physical Demands & Competencies Regular standing, bending, stooping, and lifting throughout the day Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, year-round Must be able to lift over 25 lbs to shoulder height regularly Requires safe handling of heavy and awkward items Work Schedule Full-time, non-exempt position Standard hours: Monday - Friday, with potential for early starts or overtime Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Regular, punctual attendance required All unexcused absences must be reported to the attendance hotline and supervisor Training & Development Expectations New Competencies Learn warehouse organization and bin location system Train on forklift and skid steer use, including pre-operation checks Understand internal processes for inventory, delivery, and material staging Become familiar with Microsoft Excel for basic inventory tracking Learn safe lifting techniques and safety protocols Ongoing Refreshers Periodic cycle count and inventory audit procedures Seasonal yard and facility maintenance tasks Updates to inventory software or labeling standards Equipment handling and safety certifications (as needed)
