Summary:
Provides assistance to the warehouse in receiving, stocking, filling orders, and general maintenance & cleaning of the warehouse. Drives truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations such as plants, construction sites, offices, or within industrial yards by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
Receives product by unloading vehicles, accepting deliveries, and unpacking containers. Conveys product from receiving to designated rack, shelves, or storage bin according to predetermined sequence. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, shelves, or conveys orders to shipping department. Opens crates, pallets, and other containers upon receiving for inspection of goods received, noting any discrepancies or damaged product to the Warehouse Manager. Help out with the general upkeep of the warehouse area such as sweeping of floors, breaking down pallets, organizing of inventory shelves, etc. Maintain the safety of the building, work area, and other employees by performing all duties within safety-established guidelines. Make sure that the walkways and loading docks are clear of ice and snow by shoveling, applying salt, or sand for the safety of customers, employees, and company assets. Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Requirements:
Ability to communicate effectively. Accurate and detail-oriented, with good mathematical aptitude. Self-motivated, demonstrating the ability to work consistently and under minimal supervision. Must be able to locate missing product in the warehouse. Also must be able to backtrack what other employees have done in placing or receiving items. Clean driving record for at least the past 5 years. 2+ years of experience driving a 26' box truck to construction/industrial sites, plants, etc. Most driving will be in the metro area but will include some rural areas.
