Remove imperfections like burrs, sharp edges, rust, and scratches from metal surfaces. Select the correct tools and abrasives (like sandpaper or grinding wheels) for mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Apply specific finishes such as satin, grained, brushed, or mirror polishes. Inspect finished parts carefully to ensure they match blueprints and quality standards. Maintain equipment by cleaning and doing basic safety checks on your tools daily. Skills and Experience 2+ years of metal finishing or polishing experience in a manufacturing shop.
