PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The General Laborer is the entry level production position at the Sedalia plant. General laborers may be assigned to work in many different areas, but most frequently are assigned work in the furnace department or on the grill cleaner production line. Reports to :

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Move material by hand, pallet jack and/or forklift Transfer material between different processes or manufacturing equipment Remove Foamglas blocks from metal pans and place into cooling oven Process product to customer specifications Inspect product prior to packaging Ensure packaging is correct Operate packaging and process equipment Stack, box and/or palletize material Package material for shipment to customers Provide relief for breaks; fill in for absent employees Take proper actions to maintain material flow Dispose of defective or unsalvageable material Provide general cleanup; maintain good housekeeping conditions Observe safety policies and practices. Working safety is a condition of employment. Any additional tasks as assigned by the shift supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred Able to work 12 hour shifts Able to stand for extended periods of time Able to work in extreme heat conditions and a dusty environment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be able to operate a forklift (training provided) Mechanical aptitude Basic computer skills Able to follow standard work and procedures Self-motivated; able to work with minimal supervision
