Open Door Food Pantry and Open Door Thrift Shop Full-time- $15.75
- $16.00 an hour PTO, 12 paid holidays, and paid snow days after your 90 days Monday
- Friday 8:30 am
- 5:00 pm 30-minute lunch break
Description:
This role begins in the morning at our Food Pantry Warehouse, assisting with food rescue runs and duties of the warehouse, and later shifts to the Thrift Shop to aid with donations. It works at both locations and is a vital role to both buildings. Reports directly to the Warehouse Lead and Thrift Shop Manager.Requirements:
Must be able to lift 60 lbs. and withstand repetitive lifting, bending, stooping, and twisting. Must be able to stand on their feet for more than 4 hours. Valid Driver's License. Must be able to be out in the elements while rescuing food and helping with donations. Work fundraisers and events with the fundraiser team. Responsibilities at theFood Pantry:
Maintain regular communication with supervisors about warehouse upkeep and workflow, as well as changes to food distribution pickups. Maintain all paperwork and computer data input assigned to the food rescue and other food programs. Help with keeping up on cardboard and trash removal. Grounds clean up when necessary. Perform necessary duties to keep the warehouse safe and operating according to warehouse guidelines. Help unload a semi-trailer of food and other food deliveries as needed. Schedule times and routes for vendor pickup; be accountable and on time when picking up from all assigned vendors for that day. Perform maintenance checks on fleet vehicles monthly and help keep vehicles clean and tidy. Other duties assigned Responsibilities at theOpen Door Thrift Shop:
Assist with furniture pickup or curbside pickup for Open Door Thrift Shop. Greet donors at the drop-off door, helping them unload their vehicle Sort and price donations according to standards.- We will train you on this.
Qualifications:
GED or High School Diploma Valid Driver's License and good driving record. Organizational skills and time management. Experience working in a warehouse. Knowledge of driving a Box Truck, Cargo Van, and the use of a pallet jack. Handy with tools and maintenance upkeep. Basic computer skills are required.
