About the Role Dexter is looking for a Yard Driver to safely move trailers around the yard and keep warehouse operations running efficiently. This role is all about positioning trailers at dock doors, staging areas, and parking spots so loading and unloading can happen without delays. If you're comfortable operating yard equipment, working outdoors, and staying focused in a fast-paced environment, this is a solid, steady position. What You'll Be Doing Move trailers to and from dock doors, staging areas, and designated yard locations Position trailers correctly and secure them safely at loading docks Communicate with warehouse teams and drivers to coordinate trailer moves Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and equipment Track and record trailer locations and movements Operate yard trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently Report equipment issues, damage, or safety concerns to supervision Follow all company, DOT, and safety procedures at all times What We're Looking For Ability to read and understand work instructions in English Clean driving record Valid Class A CDL Safety-focused with a strong work ethic Able to work independently without constant supervision 3 years of flatbed or similar driving experience (not required) High school diploma or GED Good communication with warehouse staff and drivers Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship Reliable attendance and time management Willingness to work overtime, including occasional 12-hour days Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily outdoor work with some indoor time; weather conditions vary by season Required use of PPE (eye, ear, hand, and foot protection) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, reaching, gripping, and balancing Occasional bending and squatting Overtime or weekend work may be required based on workload Why Work at Dexter?
