The Commodity Warehouse handles approximately 15 million pounds of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) purchasedmodities annually. The Warehouse Worker prepares shipments, receives, and stores foodmodities in the warehouse. This position verifies shipments of USDAmodity food or other items and preparesmodity orders for distribution. Hand picks orders by caseload onto pallets and supervisor assigns the loads. The work is performed independently without direct supervision. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

• General knowledge of warehouse procedures.
• Skill in operating a forklift and pallet jack.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, maintaining them over time.
• Ability tomunicate effectively and follow instructions.
• Ability toply with safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to operate a personalputer and general office equipment as necessary toplete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, email and otherputer programs, including inventory management system.
• Meet minimum qualifications
• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• Two years of job related warehouse and/or tractor-trailer experience required.
• Forklift certification or CDL Class A preferred.
• Otherbinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
