Job Title:
CDL Driver Basic Function:
Plant CDL drivers are responsible for the safe and timely movement of semi-trailers around the production plant facility. Also assist on the shipping and receiving docks. production Minimum Requirements 1. Ability to work a 12-hour shift beginning either 7AM or 7PM. 2. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 3. Ability to be a team player and interact with colleagues. 4. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 5. Ability to operate a forklift. 6. CDL License. Principal Duties (additional duties may be assigned) 1. Safety inspection must be performed, and a truck inspection sheet filled out at the beginning of the shift before operation of the vehicle. 2. Trailer inventory must be completed at the beginning of the shift and recorded on form
ASH-302. 3.
Move trailers at the request of shipping operators, Shift Flows, or Supply Chain Manager. Record any moves on the Shipping/Receiving Trailer Moves Form. 4. When moving a trailer to a dock, put one wheel choke in front of the trailer wheels on both sides of the trailer and place jack stands under the trailer. 5. When removing a trailer from a dock the CDL driver goes inside the building to confirm the trailer is ready for removal. a. Confirm dock plate is removed. b. Dock lock device is lowered. c. Safety chain is in place. 6. Hook to trailer by backing the tractor under the trailer until the fifth wheel latches around the trailer king pin. 7. Assist Shipping Material Handler with all their duties.
