About us Cape Point Bait is a successful and growing wholesale frozen bait distributor to retailers and wildlife centers throughout the East Coast. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable and career minded people who would like to join our team in Beaufort, NC and learn valuable warehouse and production skills. The Cape Point Bait Senior Warehouse Associate is primarily responsible for shipping/receiving and freezer organization while maintaining the warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly fashion. Senior Warehouse Associates also assist the bait packaging and production process, preventative maintenance on equipment, and perform grounds maintenance. Warehouse associates will be exposed to wet conditions, extreme cold in freezer, and fish processing areas on a consistent basis and must be physically capable of lifting 50lbs from floor to waist height.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly. Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list. Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Appropriately report/record any discrepancies. To accurately place materials on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly fashion Attaches identifying tag or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers to ensure FIFO (first in first out) Safely operate all the necessary equipment in work area including electric and gas forklifts, electric pallet jacks, vacuum packaging equipment, air powered tools, and other misc.
Competencies:
Forklift experience
REQUIRED
. Must have experience operating in tight areas and driving a stand-up forklift . Be able to identify product by size, type, style, color or product code. Demands great attention to detail. Training in OSHA warehouse safety. Solid reading skills - must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked. Basic math skills and reasoning skills. Ability to understand and execute instructions. Electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance skills a huge plus. Some Spanish would be helpful.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Must have valid drivers license and dependable personal transportation
Physical Requirements:
Able to move/lift up to 50 lbs unassisted Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment Position spends 100% of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
