The Finishing Utility Level 1 - Material Handler position is responsible for determining the materials necessary for each order and ensuring these materials are available at the gluer before production begins.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Prints labels as needed for order based on information from job jacket.
  • Prepares the Padlocker Control Information Form and forwards to the Padlocker Operator.
  • Checks order instructions to verify proper case/pad/scored uboard to pull from inventory.
  • Use AS400 to locate cases and move to the floor.
  • Drive lift to warehouse and retrieve cases, bring back to Finishing Department.
  • Place corrugated at designated areas.
  • Return excess corrugated to inventory when job is complete.
  • Reads and understands work schedule to determine the next order for gluing operation.
  • Verifies number of pallets from Cutting Department with number of pallets to be glued.
  • Reviews the Finishing instructions in the Order Instructions Display Program for customer specifications and special instructions.
  • Determines and cuts the correct size layer board, dividers, and uboards that are to be used for the order.
  • Checks and verifies the order number from the cutting load tag to the job jacket; moves pallet to gluer.
  • Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPEs to perform duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-year work related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • On the job training will be required for this position.
  • Good computer skills
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good communication skills Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
